Overview of WCC:
Winnetka Congregational Church is an independent, congregation-led Christian church located in Winnetka, IL. Since 1874, the Congregation has joyfully expressed its faith through Worship, Education, Service and Stewardship. Our inspiration is Christ’s command to “Love your God with all your heart and all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself”.
WCC has been integral to the growth of our community. The church started and launched the Winnetka Community House, the “Winnetka Talk” community newspaper, the Library, Harkness House for Children, The Women’s Exchange forum, The Woman’s Society, Rummage, the North Shore Art League and, most recently, Family Promise of the North Shore. Being engaged in the world outside of our Sanctuary is central to who we are.
You can read a more detailed history of the church’s activities as compiled by church historian, George Brodsky here.
