Winnetka Congregational Church Council Meeting
MEMBERS PRESENT – Bruce Kelly, Carla Vorhees, Bill McKay, Peggy McNamara, Michelle Ellensohn, Barb Fifer, Clyde McGregor, Steve Huels, Susan Gillette, Bob Smith
STAFF PRESENT – Joseph Shank, Jenny Gleichauf, Josh Sawyer, Floy Schrage.
The meeting was opened with prayer by Joseph Shank.
Pastoral reports were presented by Joe and Jenny. (hand outs) Care and calling notes were submitted (hand out).
CLERK’S REPORT - The minutes of the January meeting were approved as presented.
FINANCE REPORT – Treasurer Clyde McGregor noted that the 2009 financial books are not yet closed and current figures are not available. The success of the pledge campaign allowed a balanced budget to be approved by the congregation.
CANVASS REPORT – Steve Huels reported the amount now pledged for the year 2010 is greater than the amount raised in 2009. The team is now beginning to contact one by one those members who have not responded to the committee’s invitation.
NOMINATING – Susan Gillette announced that the formation of the nominating committee for 2010 was complete. The motion to accept the committee members passed (McNamara/Fifer). The committee includes:

ACTION STEP RECOMMENDATIONS FROM LEADERSHIP MEETING – A discussion of ideas from the most recent leadership meeting was held to review items that merited future consideration. (hand out).
