The Outreach Group is made up of four committees:
Mission Doing:
Facilitates opportunities to connect the skills and volunteer resources in our congregation with needs in our community and the broader world.
Mission Giving:
Helps WCC fulfill its stewardship responsibilities by identifying, funding and monitoring the work of exemplary local agencies meeting basic human needs in the Chicago metro area.
Centennial Loan Fund:
Promotes and administers a permanent and revolving fund available to Protestant churches in the Chicagoland area that do not have access to conventional affordable financing for capital needs or church-related programs.
Interfaith/Ecumenical:
The Winnetka Interfaith Council meets approx. 5 times a year in different faith communities (Monday evenings, with committee meetings in between). The committees are basically one for planning the Thanksgiving service and another for planning interfaith dialogue events. As a member you are also expected to provide communication back to your parish. The WIC consists of reps from numerous faith communities, including the Morton Grove Muslim community, churches in Northfield and Kenilworth as well as Winnetka (interestingly, the Bahá’í Temple in Wilmette, is part of both the WIC and the Wilmette interfaith organization).
If you would like to get involved in one of our outreach ministries, please let us know.
