New and Updated Petitions and Thanksgivings
Prayers continue for Tim Kelly and family as they mourn the death of Tim’s cousin Treja Kelly. Treja was shot and killed Sept. 8 in Chicago. Her funeral is this Saturday. Tim is a frequent percussionist in our worship services and his mother, Ms. Betty Kelly, sings in WCC Singers. If you’d like to send Tim a card, his address is 8213 S. Green St. #2; Chicago IL 60620.
We hold Paul Van Zuiden and family in our prayers on the death of Paul’s mother Gertrude in Fulton, Illinois on September 14. She died one day shy of her 101st birthday. Services will be held this Saturday.
Nicole and Mike Jakob ask for prayers for their friend Barb Agresti who is fighting her third round of a rare form of cancer. Barb is a mother, wife, and wonderful person. The prognosis is not good, and she is scared. Please pray for the entire family.
Liz Ritter had successful orthopedic surgery this week. She is already back home and recovering.
Prayers for the Streiff, Bedinghause, and Estrada families on the sudden passing of Dan Streiff on August 21. Dan attended and ushered at Winnetka Congregational Church for many years.
Connie Casey’s sister Joanna Uhry died August 25. Prayers of comfort, peace, and healing are asked for Connie and family.
We pray blessings on the wedding of Leigh Folta, Chancel Choir soprano lead, and Taylor Smith. Leigh and Taylor will marry on September 28 in Massachusetts.
We pray for everyone affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas and the Carolinas.
Our prayers are with members of Congregation Hakafa and the family and friends of Jerry Friedman who died September 6. Jerry was one of Hakafa’s founding members and the first president of the congregation.
We pray for George Eisner as he attempts to find work, community, and a new life in Los Angeles. God, please send George strength, faith, and love!
We pray with the Tilson family and Thomas Tilson who writes, “My cat was put down a week ago at the age of 16.”
We ask God’s healing strength and comfort for Caroline Christman, age 5, who has kidney cancer.
Please keep Cynthia Filion, Andrea Anderson’s sister, in your thoughts. She is recovering from a broken hip and renewed mental health issues. Andrea is overseeing her care in Tulsa.
