Welcome our new
Director of Youth Ministries,
Jamie Frazier!

We are so excited to welcome Jamie as our new Director of Youth. Jamie will be working primarily with our high school youth group, Servants, but will also spend time with our confirmation and church school children. Jamie will also participate in worship and other church activities throughout the year. We are planning a special reception to welcome Jamie this fall, but we hope that you will take the time to introduce yourself to him when you are here this summer.

Here is a little about Jamie:
A native of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Jamie like Timothy of the New Testament, owes much to the Mother, Irene L. Frazier, and Grandmother, Dorothy R. Frazier, who raised him. These two women gave Jamie the passion for prayer, love for scripture, and heart for other people that sits at the core of his personal identity and ministry mission.
Upon his graduation from Berkeley High School, Jamie attended Vanderbilt University on a full-tuition scholarship. While at Vandy, Jamie served as Student Government Executive-Vice President and started a ministry called Jeremiah Generation in Spring, 2005. "JG," as most know it, was launched with just five other students. Today it is comprised of a Praise Team and Band, Dance Team, Welcome Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and JG-run college preparation program for local high school students. JG sponsors weekly bible studies, monthly Men’s and Women’s Ministry events, monthly Hour of Power Worship Experiences, and 2 campus-wide revivals each school year.
Jamie will be attending Chicago Theological Seminary beginning this fall to pursue his Masters of Divinity degree. He lives in Hyde Park. He enjoys live theater, movies, and jazz music.

Please welcome Jamie as he joins us in ministry! He can be reached at youth@wcc-joinus.org or extension 27.

All Golfers Welcome

Hootie Johnson Augusta National Satellite Summer Classic

Mark your calendars: On Friday, August 27th, golfers of all ages and most skill levels are invited to participate in the 8th annual WCC Mixed Golf Event. (That means men and women can play, with or without spouses.)

To accommodate player and television network demand, we have scheduled the event on a Friday afternoon. Hootie Johnson, who has been invited to act as official starter for the past several years, has not returned phone calls.

The event will take place at Winnetka Golf Club, with tee times starting at 2 pm. We’ll finish up with beer and pizza and the telling of tales. All members and friends of WCC and our Covenant Groups are welcome. Call the church office (Char at 847-441-3400, ext. 10) to reserve your place in this 18-hole fellowship opportunity. With limited space available, you’ll want to call as soon as possible.

Please sign up with Char (as a single or in a group) by August 20th. Any questions, call or email Dinny at 847-242-9107 or dinnycosyns@yahoo.com

We Have An Appointment!

As you may know, our Associate Pastor, William Mueller, is a clergy member of the United Methodist Church (since 1976). Hence, he is accountable to his local bishop of the Northern Illinois Annual Conference who appoints clergy to their various ministries. This is typically done annually in June and includes appointments to local churches as well as to extension ministries.

Rev. Mueller also has an ecclesiastical endorsement as a pastoral counselor by his denomination’s General Board of Higher Education and Ministry. This enables him to be appointed to Winnetka Congregational Church as well as to his position as Adjunct Professor at Loyola University Chicago: Graduate School of Social Work.

As of this past June’s Annual Conference, Rev. Mueller has been reappointed by Bishop Hee-Soo Jung to Winnetka Congregational Church as well as to Loyola.

Picture Yourself Helping Someone Everyday

Become a Career Resource Center Board Member

Current Career Resource Center Board members know with certainty that their volunteer service is making a crucial difference to job seekers in Lake and Cook Counties. CRC, located in Lake Forest, has already aided over 10,500 individuals over its 20 year history. In addition to being passionate about the mission of empowering job seekers, these board members also enjoy the dividend of befriending fellow board members who are engaging, talented, and networked.

CRC, a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization, has a track record of attracting effective board members who energetically apply their areas of expertise to overseeing the governance of the organization and assisting in outreach and donor liaison efforts. The Center is supported by your congregation, corporations, foundations, townships, United Way plus benefactors and alumni.

Currently, CRC’s Nominating Committee is seeking and interviewing candidates. The Board is especially interested in candidates who possess legal, financial, and operations skill sets. CRC looks for ‘roll-up-your-sleeves-and-do-it’ individuals who have demonstrated leadership in their work, community, club, or religious organizations. Past and current board members have credentials including: corporate management, public relations, sales, business development, marketing, and community service leadership.

If you would like to discuss how you can serve on the board, CRC looks forward to hearing from you. A tour of the Center, meetings with current board members and ample Q&A sessions characterize CRC's way of getting to know potential board members. For more information, contact Jan Leahy, Executive Director at 847.295.5626 or jan@CareerResourceCenter.org or visit www.CareerResourceCenter.org.
