Organ Project - Past Organ

Back to Organ Project Main

Our past organ was an Austin electro-pneumatic instrument that employs electrical and pneumatic devices between the keys and pipes.

The organ was installed in 1956 and this kind of organ typically lasts forty to fifty years. It was removed in 2006 for the renovation of the sanctuary and installation of a new organ.

Ours organ was forty-five years old and it suffered from serious decay and reduced reliability.

Decayed leather causes bellows to leak
Pipes are removed to prevent cyphers
Worn electrical contacts between keys and pipes
Deteriorating pipe insulation in sanctuary
